The pbeTransportFoam solver is a three-dimensional solver code that solves a population balance equation in an arbitrary computational cell. The velocity field is assumed to be frozen, and can be calculated with a standard OpenFOAM solver with heat transfer capabilities such as buoyantSimpleFoam.
Results obtained in a Taylor-Couette reactor are presented in the journal article of Passalacqua et. al. (2018).
